Kicking off the 2023 Championship with a bang at Sebring!
What a way to start the year!! We kicked off our year with a bang at Round 1 at Sebring. I qualified on outright pole which was pretty epic. When we tested at Sebring we were really strong, but it was a surprise to be on pole so we were stoked with that. Leading a field of over 30 cars into Turn 1was awesome.
I got passed at Turn 3 and put back into 2nd place. From there we were comfortably in 2nd and with strong pace, but when there was a safety car it bunched the field up, unfortunately I made a mistake on the restart which put me back to 3rd in class.
Qualifying for Race 2 is based off our 2nd fastest lap in qualifying, my second fasted lap wasn’t as fast as my first so I started Race 2 in 4th. I raced in 4th for a while and then I managed to make up a position into 3rd. So finished Race 2 in 3rd as well.
Overall we’re really happy with how the weekend went and it started off our season really well. We came away with a pole and two podiums plus, there were plenty of positives which we will take to our next round at Barber Motorsports Park in a few weeks time. I can’t thank my team, JDX Racing enough and a massive thank you to Jaxon for his hard work. I’d also like to thank my supporters, Byers, Porsche Columbus, Spool Imports and Boss Air Suspension - without your support this wouldn’t be happening. Bring on Round 2.
