Finishing off the year at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
The last round of the year is done and dusted.
We qualified P4 at Indy, it was a super close qualifying.
Race 1 was incredibly wet, visibility was super low and there was a lot of standing water but we got a great star, jumped into 2nd but we got turned around on the exit of turn 2. This dropped all the way down to last. We managed to come back through the field a little bit before the race went under yellow. The conditions continued to deteriorate throughout the race as it rained more and more so the standing water got worse which caused the accident that made the race go under yellow. Unfortunately, this result put us out of the running for 2nd in the championship.
Race 2 was a lot better; we started in P4 and got a good start. We were racing for 3rd but didn't quite have the pace to make the move for the podium. We were just not quite fast enough early on in the race but were really happy with the pace we held at the end of the race and it was probably our most consistent race of the year. A podium just wasn’t on the cards for us this weekend.
As always, a huge thank you to my amazing team. They have given me a faultless car all year and I really appreciate the hard work that they continue to put in.
